“We have Steven Taylor available on Saturday, and it adds to our armoury. Willo had to wait, and Steven knows he has to wait. Steven was in the team when I came, and he was playing well.”

Alan Pardew has spoken to the local press today about the Newcastle United defence. Steven Taylor will be back for this weekend’s tie over Bolton at St.James Park with the star knowing he can’t push his way straight back into the side under Alan Pardew. This is what the boss told us: “Our clean sheet record is getting better, and defensively we’ve been tight. Other than Arsenal, we’ve been tight. That was 45 minutes where we lost focus, but other than that, we’ve been strong. I’ve been pleased with the defenders.”

He went on to comment: “We have Steven Taylor available on Saturday, and it adds to our armoury. Willo had to wait, and Steven knows he has to wait. Steven was in the team when I came, and he was playing well.” Kick off this Saturday will be at 3.00pm live from St.James Park and broadcasted on BBC Radio Newcastle. Tickets for home fans are still on general sale, if you are buying on the day please note that the original box office will be open just next to the cash machine. On non-match days this box office is closed and tickets at the ground will have to be purchased in the Puma store next to Shearer’s bar.
